Early Struggle

Printer-Friendly Format

During the first few years of most organizations, there is a period of struggle, during which the very existence of the organization is at stake.

The key issues are usually cash (or the lack of it), and / or establishing if there is a viable market for the organization's product or service.

Sometimes an organization cannot break out of this early struggle, and it eventually dies, either because the money runs out, or because the founders finally concede there is no market for their product or service.

I (and many others) estimate that somewhere between two-thirds and three-quarters of all newly-launched organizations never make it through this stage of development.
